GOVERNANCEANZAM is a professional membership academy which is incorporated in New South Wales under the Associations Incorporated Act (1994) and is a non-profit, non-shareholder corporation with limited liability. The governing body of ANZAM is the Executive Committee which is chaired by the President with support from the President-Elect and Immediate Past President. The Executive also includes a Secretary and Treasurer, elected representatives from five geographical regions across Australia and New Zealand, and a representative for postgraduate students. In addition, there are co-opted members who provide specific expertise for special projects and sub-committees. The President serves a one year term in this role which starts at the Annual General Meeting in December, and is succeeded by the President-Elect. The ANZAM Executive meets four times per year, typically in March, June, September and December. The Executive Committee meets with Institutional Member representatives the day after the Executive meeting in March and June, as well as at the ANZAM Conference in December. The Executive also has a one-day Strategy meeting to consider the future direction and activities of the academy, usually held on the day following the Executive Committee meeting in September. The ANZAM Executive Committee has a sub-committee structure aligned with the strategy and priority goals for the academy. Each sub-committee has a chair/convenor and a workplan for the year which includes key projects and initiatives that are underway. The 2009 ANZAM Executive sub-committee structure and membership is listed below: Membership Services, Outreach Profile and Promotion Sub-committee Research and Research Development Sub-committee Systems, Processes, Policies and Conferences Sub-committee Teaching and Learning Sub-committee |
