  Professor Bill Doolin
 
 

Dr Bill Doolin is Professor of Technology and Organisation in the Faculty of Business at Auckland University of Technology.

Bill has taught and researched at several universities in Australasia and the UK. His work focuses on the implications of technology in organisations and society. To understand this, Bill utilises approaches based around critical discourse analysis (CDA), actor-network theory (ANT), and the social construction of technology (SCOT).

Past research has included the role of management and information technologies in public sector health reform, discourse and identity in organisational change, power and resistance in the implementation and use of information systems, and the social shaping of Web use in tourism organisations. His work has appeared in journals such as Accounting, Management & Information Technologies, Information Systems Journal, Journal of Information Technology, Organization, Organization Studies, and Public Management Review.

Bill is currently researching the adoption and use of Internet technologies, the discourses and factors shaping the trajectory of biotechnology innovation in New Zealand, and public understanding of biotechnology.
