  Professor Sally Davenport
 

Dr Sally Davenport has a background in chemistry and research expertise in the areas of strategy, technology, innovation and research management and policy. 

Sally also has extensive experience as a contract researcher, for FRST, MoRST, MED and IRL. She is a member of the RSNZ's Committee on Human Resources in Science and Technology and, more recently, was appointed to the Action Group Reference Team for the Growth and Innovation Advisory Board's Smart Enterprises Project. 

Her research interests centre on organizational and stakeholder strategy surrounding the management of science and technology, with a particular focus on the interaction between public sector researchers and private sector companies. In addition to involvement in the Sustainable Biotechnology Project, she has been an active researcher in the Competitive Advantage New Zealand team (VIC0211) investigating successful high-tech New Zealand firms and, more recently, leads a small team studying the management and impact of the MacDiarmind Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology.  Through her FRST funded and contract research she has developed very productive relationships with end-user research, business and policy communities. Her articles have mainly appeared in research & technology management journals.
