  Commercialisation of Biotechnology

This project focuses on the trajectory of biotechnology development in New Zealand, through a examination of local models of biotechnology commercialisation. The research will be conducted using a qualitative approach that includes interviews and comparative case studies of New Zealand biotechnology organisations.

Part of the research will draw on Michel Callon’s notion of techno-economic networks to analyse how biotechnology innovations can be understood as the (relative) stabilisation of relationships between diverse actors in scientific, technical and market domains.
