  Stakeholder Interest and Identity

This research focuses on stakeholder interaction and how various organisations approach working with stakeholders around biotechnology issues. Early work, particularly with ERMA's communication manager, has led to the development of an 'interest-identity' framework to help organisations understand how an (biotechnology) issue impacts upon a stakeholder and, therefore, what types of responses might be expected. This framework should be very useful for many organisations that are involved in communicating, consulting with, and managing stakeholders over more contentious issues than are usually portrayed in the stakeholder management literature.
