This research project has evolved out of interest in how dialogue around complex technologies such as biotechnology occurs in society. The project has involved a retrospective look at how the New Zealand Royal Commission on Genetic Modification was structured with respect to ideas in the literature about modern science-society debates. This analysis will be followed up with an exploration of 'the future of dialogue' in this area.
