Welcome

Welcome to the home page of the Department of Management Communication.

The Department of Management Communication is the hub of demonstrably top-quality research and teaching in the inter-related fields of organisational communication and public relations. Staffed by scholars with international and national profiles, it is characterised by its openness to diverse scholarship and a commitment to sustainability, diversity, and equity.

Our department has a passion for teaching and research in communication; an openness to diverse scholarship; a commitment to sustainability, diversity, and equity; and aspirations to make the Treaty of Waitangi live and breathe in all that we do. We aim to make learning stimulating and enjoyable in an environment that is both challenging and supportive.

The Department's shared understanding of what constitutes Management Communication revolves around the theory and practice of communication in organisational settings and blends complex critique with practical skills. Our programmes of study at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels focus not only on producing graduates with relevant communication skills and sharp analytical minds but also citizens who can make a difference in the world in which they live and work.

We hope you find our website helpful. If you have suggestions, questions, or comments please send them to Ted Zorn at tzorn@mngt.waikato.ac.nz Thank you for taking the time to find out about us.

We look forward to hearing from you.
