How Does Your Practice Measure Up?

The Accountants Practice Comparison, conducted now for over 18 years, will provide your practice with valuable information enabling you to compare your practices' performance with that of similar practices. The last report was completed in November 2009 and we will undertake the next one around mid-2012.

Principals can compare key financial and non-financial indicators with participating practices allowing them to identify strengths and weaknesses within their practice. It provides essential information for management decisions, budgeting, and goal setting.

Based on feedback from participating accountants, the survey now includes questions regarding remuneration of CA qualified and unqualified staff, along with principal remuneration levels (where withdrawn as a regular wage).  The survey of personnel charge out rates has also been expanded in line with the staffing categories.

This survey also provides your practice with valuable comparison information based on the following KPIs:

Net Surplus per Principal Gross Fees per Principal Hours Charged per Year Billing Efficiency

Charge Out Rates Expenses as a % of Gross Fees Source Fees Gross Fees per Staff Member

In addition, Sub-group reports provide comparisons based on practice size (number of principals), income, and location.
