How do I purchase the 2010 NZ Business Benchmarking Survey?

Non-participants may purchase the 2010 NZ Business Benchmarking Survey, published in June 2011, as a full publication or by individual industry classification. The 2010 Order Form, linked below, contains examples of the two report formats and a list of the industry classifications that have been reported in the publication that are available for purchase. Classification Code Finder - Search the extensive ANZSIC classification definitions online to find the most appropriate code for your business using Statistics New Zealand's Classification Code Finder.

Business Industry Description and Code - Alternatively, you may search using this website. Note that only the letter and left four numbers in the code are used in ANZSIC and the right two numbers are ignored.

Then refer to pages 6-19 of the Order Form to see if the relevant ANZSIC classification or a more narrowly defined Custom Class (added by the University to provide more detailed business category reports) is available for purchase. Due to the breadth of the business classifications list used, a number of higher level summary reports are also available where some of the most detailed classification reports did not achieve the sample size necessary for a report to be generated.

Growth in Samples and Reports Published

28 more industries have been reported in the 2010 publication due to a 10% increase in total sample size compared to the 2009 survey. That builds on the 2009 survey, which had a 21% total sample size increase compared to the 2008 survey.

We currently have the last 13 years (back to the 1998 report) of NZ Business Benchmarking Reports available for purchase. These financial statistics can be purchased as full publications or by individual industry classification. If you would like further information please contact the Management Research Centre.

Survey Results Access for Participants

To ensure the continued success of the survey, participation is essential. Therefore, firms who participate in the survey will enjoy access to electronic reporting functions and resources including the most up-to-date benchmarking results - available year round.  Only Chartered Accountants in an accounting practice may participate.
