Other Teaching

Developed Web-based teaching for MBA and introductory finance courses including video-streamed lectures, website development, and nationwide e-delivery of our courses, including lectures. Worked with the Management School team to develop an integrated strategy of e-learning and e-delivery. Working papers on these topics are in progress. (Awards have resulted from some of these developments.)

Working with the International Association of Financial Planners New Zealand (Inc) (IAFP), developed an academic programme which was approved in 1991 by the University of Waikato as the "Diploma in Personal Financial Planning". Worked with the Management Development Centre, Westpac and ANZ banks and others to put detail and structure in this diploma. Responsible for the academic integrity of this programme. The first course in this diploma was offered in November of 1991. In 2001, an e-delivered version of the diploma was again approved by the professional body (now called the FPIA). This diploma satisfies the educational requirements for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in New Zealand.
