Research PerformancePerformance Based Research FundingIn the first PBRF research quality evaluation in 2003, Waikato Management School achieved the highest ranking in New Zealand for the two largest subject areas in the Business and Economics panel - first in Accounting and Finance, and first equal in Management, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, International Business and Other Business. The School also ranked third in Economics and fifth in Marketing and Tourism. In the second PBRF round in 2006, Waikato Management School's research quality scores increased in all subjects (see Table below). The School repeated our top performance in the two largest subject areas in the Business and Economics panel - first in Accounting and Finance, and first in the Management, Human Resources, Industrial Relations and Other Business. The School also came third in Economics with an excellent quality score and increased their Marketing and Tourism ranking to third. WMS has improved its average weighted quality score since 2003, and has lifted its overall score at School level by 41% from 3.03 in 2003 to 4.07 in 2006 PBRF Research Quality Evaluation: Business and Economic Panel Results
