In the pursuit of innovative ideas that will create sustainable value for organisations and communities, our research portfolio focuses on five multi-disciplinary areas - known as meta-themes
- Organising for Performance - focusing on the ways in which organisations can improve and enhance their performance. Includes research programmes on peak performance, corporate finance & investments, audit & assurance, accountability & performance measurement, strategy & innovation, educational innovation, and operations management.
- International Competitiveness and Development - focusing on creating and maintaining international competitiveness and development. Includes research programmes on New Zealand competitiveness, Asia Pacific development, comparative research, and global research.
- Social and Sustainable Development - focusing on creating sustainability for individuals, organisations, communities (including Maori), nations and the global community. Includes research programmes on corporate social responsibility, environmental sustainability, social policy, community & third sector management, behavioural sciences, and human resources & organisational behaviour.
- E-Commerce and ICT Innovation - focusing on the application of Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) and new business processes in organisations. Includes research programmes on socio-economic impacts of ICT/EC, innovative applications of ICT/EC, commercialisation of innovative ICT/EC, strategic use of ICT/EC, adoption, uptake and implementation processes for ICT/EC, and on-line communities and electronic communication.
- Wealth Creation for New Zealand - focusing on the drivers of wealth creation for local and regional development, and future growth of the national economy. Includes research programmes in tourism & hospitality, health, creative industries, economic policy in NZ, regional & business economics, supply chain management, and small & medium enterprises.
